Turf and Plant Care Specialist/Spray Technician

JOB TITLE: Turf and Plant Care Specialist/Spray Technician
FULL/PART TIME: Full Time
STATUS: FLSA Non-Exempt
PAY: Hourly Rate Depends on Experience

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Turf Care Manager, this position is responsible for providing service to residential and commercial customers, including caring for lawns, ornamental plants, and trees, measuring and quantifying the mixing of landscape care products and applying products according to safety guidelines and label instructions, and providing customer service in a manner consistent with Landscape Management Company’s motto – Professional People, Professional Results.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):
  • Safely and correctly handles, mixes, and applies fertilizers and pesticides.
  • Safely drives company vehicle to various jobsites.
  • Completes daily job reports and other required documentation accurately and legibly and submits all paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Inspects and maintains vehicle and equipment via common sense practices of cleanliness, safety, and proper handling. Performs light mechanical maintenance work on pumps, sprayers, and other equipment when needed.
  • Keeps all chemical areas clean, including store rooms, fertilizer storage area, and trucks.
  • Uses personal protective and safety equipment properly.
  • Assists with maintenance when needed.
  • Reports for work on time, maintains a positive attitude, and provides excellent customer service.
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience and/or training operating spray and application equipment is preferred.
  • Knowledge of basic turf care practices.
  • Pesticide Applicator’s License or the ability to obtain one within six months.
  • Valid Georgia driver’s license and an insurable driving record (an investigation of driving record will be conducted).
  • Ability to obtain a medical examiner’s certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide effectively.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English and effectively communicate in English with supervisors, employees, and customers.
  • Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and walk long distances over various types of terrain.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Knowledge of different types of turf, trees, shrubs, weeds, etc. common in the southeastern U.S., as well as the ability to diagnose common pests, diseases, etc. that impact turf, plants, and trees in this area is desired but not required.

  • This position requires considerable physical activity, including the ability to lift up to 70 lbs occasionally, and up to 50 lbs frequently. The work of the Turf and Plant Care Specialist often involves walking, reaching, climbing, stooping, pulling, balancing, crouching, kneeling, etc. The Turf and Plant Care Specialist is frequently exposed to a variety of weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, rain, snow, etc. and is expected to perform duties as assigned.

Landscape Maintenance/Enhancement Technician I - III

JOB TITLE: Landscape Technician
FULL/PART TIME: Full Time/Seasonal
STATUS: FLSA Non-Exempt
PAY: Hourly Rate Depends on Experience

JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Site Manager, this position performs a variety of duties involved in the care, maintenance, and improvement of landscapes. The Landscape Technician is responsible for providing customer service in a manner consistent with Landscape Management Company's motto - Professional People, Professional Results.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned):

  • Performs a variety of landscape care and maintenance duties, including (but not limited to) mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, pruning, planting, blowing, picking up litter, etc.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
  • Safely drives company vehicle to various jobsites (for positions that are designated as drivers).
  • Uses tools and equipment properly and safely.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Uses personal protective and safety equipment properly.
  • Reports to work on time and in uniform; maintains a positive attitude, and provides excellent customer service.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to perform strenuous work in a variety of weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, etc.).
  • Valid Georgia driver's license and an insurable driving record (for driving positions; an investigation of driving record will be conducted).
  • Ability to obtain a medical examiner's certificate in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (for driving positions).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, supervisors, and the general public.
